Our Research

Sexual Health Victoria (SHV) is committed to robust evidence creation and effective research translation and dissemination in reproductive and sexual health. We value research collaboration and welcome opportunities to discuss new research proposals.

Our research strategy aims to improve patient outcomes, increase health professional capacity and contribute to improved service system responsiveness. Our research is conducted ethically with the rights, integrity and confidentiality of participants safeguarded. We conduct research both independently and in collaboration with a range of partner organisations.

SHV's Research Strategy and 2019-2023 Strategic Plan Goals

Our research strategy aligns with SHV's Strategic Plan Goals. One of the key goals of our 2019-2023 Strategic Plan is to build the evidence base for reproductive and sexual health services and health promotion. SHV undertake and support high quality, ethical research conducted by universities, clinical institutes and community-based organisations within the following domains of sexual and reproductive health:
