Trichomoniasis

The following are some facts you should know about trichomoniasis:

  • Trichomoniasis is caused by a micro-organism.
  • It causes a thin, yellow-green vaginal discharge in women that can feel irritating and have a strong odour.
  • Men can have a similar discharge or no symptoms.
  • It's easily diagnosed by having a swab test.
  • It's treated with antibiotics.
  • You need to have it treated as soon as possible to prevent the infection from spreading.
  • You sexual partners also need to be treated as soon as possible.
