Nurses

FPV provides extensive professional education and training for nurses and health workers. The courses, seminars and various activities are run by our multi-disciplinary team and aim to enhance the skills and capacity of health workers and educators in the area of sexual and reproductive health throughout Victoria and interstate.

We are committed to the provision of ongoing regular programs to ensure clinicians and health professionals maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in sexual and reproductive health.

Courses, Seminars and Activities

• Sexual and Reproductive Health Certificate Courses for Nurses — delivering nationally accredited qualifications in advanced practice.

• Clinical Updates for Nurses and Health Service Workers — offering ongoing seminars on the latest research and technology on a variety of topics.

These update seminars include sessions on:

• Secondary School Nurses training programs - offering Sexual and Reproductive Health certificate courses and education and training workshops covering teaching strategies. See teachers or community educators for details.

• Tailored courses — based on requests, courses are customised for nurses, health and disability professionals working in a variety of settings in the field of human sexuality.

• Specialist projects — providing consultancy project support services in sexual health education and training eg. designing health promotion activities for Community Health nurses.
