Filipino Booklet – Ating Pag-Usapan Ang Seks

Family Planning Victoria collaborated with Women’s Health West and the Centre for Philippine Concerns Australia, Victoria Branch to produce a booklet ‘Ating Pag-Usapan Ang Seks” (Let’s Talk about Sex). This booklet contains two stories in Tagalog which you can Download a copy here. There is a synopsis of the two stories in English version which you can Download a copy here.

Serving People from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities

Clients of Family Planning Victoria come from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, including newly arrived migrants from Sudan, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, China and Vietnam. We work closely with community leaders and agencies that directly service these communities so as to build mutual understanding and improve knowledge sharing and training, with the aim of improving access to sexual and reproductive health services.

We recognise that different people and cultures view sex and family planning differently. Our health professionals and educators uphold the organisation's value to be sensitive to the impact of gender, culture and social environment on sexual health beliefs and behaviours, and we acknowledge the need for culturally appropriate education strategies.

Family Planning Victoria also realises that access to sexual and reproductive health services should not be hindered by languauge barriers. We work with accredited translating and interpreting agencies to provide language assistance for our clients and continuously identify relevant resources that are provided in languages other than English for our clients.
