Training
and Education at FPV
For
over 30 years Family Planning Victoria (FPV) has provided
training and education in sexual and reproductive health.
A broad range of programs are offered by qualified educators
who are experts in their field.
FPV is the premier training
and teaching resource for Victorians involved in sexual
and reproductive health delivery. Our
approach
FPVs
professional development and training courses are attended
by doctors, nurses,
teachers, community
educators, disability educators
and disability workers.
Education
sessions are also provided directly to students,
teenagers,
people with disabilities, members of community groups,
carers and parents.
FPV
is a statewide organisation that works actively in both
metropolitan and rural settings.
FPV provides:
- accredited
training courses for doctors and nurses
- professional
education and training programs for teachers, educators,
pre-school carers, community workers, nurses and disability
workers
- tailored
courses for specific professional groups eg. disability
workers
- workplace-based
sexual health education for industry, sporting bodies,
etc.

people with intellectual disabilities

services in health education and disability

and community education programs for students of primary
schools, secondary schools, tertiary institutions
and community groups

Seminars
and Updates
Ongoing
education seminars and activities are held regularly
throughout the year to provide doctors, nurses, teachers
and other health professionals with relevant up-to-date
research, technology, information and skills. The FPV

Options
Bookshop and Library
The
FPV bookshop and library specialise in sexual and reproductive
health resources and publications.
The library
also includes disability
resources.
FPV
has available books, videos, kits and pamphlets for
children, teenagers, students, parents, people with
disabilities, teachers, educators and health professionals.
These publications cover specialised areas, such as
safer sex, STIs, contraception, disability, pregnancy,
womens health and mens health.
