Since its foundation over 30 years ago, Family Planning Victoria continues to strive to enable Victorians to make individual choices on sexual and reproductive health matters, through the provision of a range of services. The services target the disadvantaged, high risk and marginalised people who experience difficulty accessing mainstream services.

As part of our national and international network, FPV actively works in both metropolitan and rural settings.

Our professional education, community education, clinical and research services are interlinked to inform practice and benefit the wider community.

We also work in close collaboration with other agencies throughout Victoria to build a better understanding of the importance of good sexual health.

In this way, FPV’s work encourages the development of skilled sexual health practitioners, appropriately timed sexual education, access to reliable information and high quality confidential health care.

FPV will be a leading provider of sexual and reproductive health services in the Victorian community.

MISSION

FPV is providing a range of services, with an evidenced based approach, which are accessible, culturally relevant and responsive to the needs of community members. The services will be targeted to disadvantaged, high risk and marginalized people who experience difficulty accessing mainstream services.

FPV is a member of Family Planning Australia which is affiliated with the International Planned Parenthood Federation. The organisation was Incorporated in 1993 under the Associations Incorporation Act 1981 and has been in operation since 1969.

Principles FPV Follows:

• Priority will be given to vulnerable, marginalized and disadvantaged people and communities including those with high risk factors
• People should have freedom to decide and make informed choices in sexual and reproductive health issues.
• Our services will be non-judgmental and of a high quality.
• Everyone has equal right to access sexual and reproductive health care.
• Our range of services will include health promotion and education.
• People have the right to obtain the highest standards from FPV.
• Our services will be provided equitably to people with diverse needs

FPV is a leading provider of sexual & reproductive health services. Donations of $2 and upwards are allowable Tax Deductions.
